Vostro 3030 psu upgrade
Hi
I bought Vostro 3030.
They came with the 180w bronze psu.
I am regretting not speccing the upgraded power supply, to run a graphics card.
Can I get the higher power psu as a field fit, or is there a compatible psu that I can install?
What would be the compatible part numbers?

The tower model can take the higher capacity power supplies and has room for at least a modest video card.
The other form factors are dead ends for upgrades though.

vostro 3030 is desktop tower similar to Inspiron 3030 with same chipset and case except for small difference in front bezel and motherboard amenities.

vostro 3030 appears to a slight upgrade of Inspiron 3030 motherboard with soldered extra PCIex1 slot and soldered
Inspiron 3030 have all above unsoldered c/w cheapest base oem board.

The Vostro 3030 has 2 desktop form factors. The Small Form Factor (SFF), and the Medium Tower (MT). I presume we're working with the MT as that would be the only one that can upgrade its PSU. Per the spec sheet, you can go with a 300w PSU or up to a 460w PSU. Surprisingly, I don't see any part numbers listed for this model in our part database so I can't provide any official recommendations for the upgrade. I'd have to recommend googling your model and the psu you need to find options.

Dell never lists P/N of psu in manual, but Dell moderators often have access to internal SPMD which lists compatible psu etc. and their P/N.

Ah okay, so if I filter parts off of the Inspiron 3030, then that does indeed provide part numbers for a 460w PSU. @redxps630 would be correct on the part numbers:
They are not tied to the Vostro 3030 in our database, but they are tied to the Vostro 3020 interestingly enough. Not too sure why the 3030 vostro is being left out. I'll note that these part numbers are also the same for the newer EBT2250 and E0T2250.
