Compatible dock

Vostro 15 3510

Vostro 15 3510

Can anyone help, I am trying to find a docking station that is compatible with this laptop (work issued for remote working, docks not supplied).  I currently have 1 monitor connected via HDMI, but due to the work I do, I desperately need another screen,  I tried buying a vga to usb-c cable (older monitor), and it restricted the resolution of the monitor to around 800 I think it locked in at, which looked awful, so now trying to get another method to attach it, was hoping dock, and my partner was going to let me have his, but the power connector into the laptop is different than on his dock.  I am really struggling to find anything more than just generic information about docks, and certainly nothing specific about a compatible one.  It only has 1 HDMI, otherwise it wouldnt have been an issue, and a splitter will just duplicate the display, not extend it. Please help. Thanks

The answer depends on your system configuration.  If it has discrete graphics, you have a USB-C port capable of video output, so you can use a USB-C dock.

If you have integrated video, it's not natively capable of video out over USB, so a docking station isn't going to enable video output.  You can use a Displaylink adapter for a single video output.
