Hello Hassan,

The issue you may face might be a driver conflict or with a windows update. Do you remember any updates that you have installed for your vostro?

To find your exact audio codec head into BIOS and look for Audio Codec / Audio chipset basically related to audio in status or system BIOS info page if it is Cirrus 8409 or Realtek ALC

Here is the driver link for Cirrus8409 Cirrus Driver Windows 11

Fixes & Enhancements

- Fixed the issue where there is no audio after the Windows Update.
- Fixed the issue where there is no audio when updating the audio driver through Dell Update application.
If its being a Realtek ALC Realtek ALC Driver Vostro Win 11_24H2

Fixes & Enhancements

- Fixed the issue where the system microphone and speaker do not work after you install the audio driver. This issue occurs on systems with the Windows 11 operating system, version 24H2.
- Fixed the issue where there is no audio during a Microsoft Teams call.
- Fixed the issue where a Windows error message is displayed when you update the operating system.

Regarding BIOS BEEP sound not appearing during diagnostics, it is because modern computers dosen't come with speakers being directly connected to motherboard so that the BIOS communicates with the chipset on a basic way where you dont here any sounds but passes the test if the electronic signals are sent and received.

I hope the BIOS test was passed by a green check and a QR code that directs you to dell bios diagnostics web site to input the code and get the log of diagnosis where there also it confirms the result shown in bios.

@Fadidell The Bios test shown no errors but in windows no sound. my chip audio is Cirrus 8409, and I have already installed the latest driver from dell website. and the result is red (x) on audio icon. and when go to device manager, and step to properties of Cirrus logic high definition audio the following message is shown

"

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

{Driver Entry Point Not Found}
The %hs device driver could not locate the entry point %hs in driver %hs."

So In your opinion may be a corruption during industry in motherboard or the problem may be solved by me?

@Fadidell In audio diagnostics, there should be some tones to test the audio, no audio is listened but the result shown is no error.

Sorry to hear that. Before anything else, if your device is under warranty, contact Dell as quickly as possible.

  1. Check in Device Manager under System Devices if there is Microsoft High Definition Audio Controller, Intel Smart Sound Technology, and Intel OED.

I guess that your Cirrus HDA supports Intel SST Technology. If Microsoft HDA is shown without errors, then leave it as is, as we will try both as we progress.

  1. I would like you to uninstall all Cirrus drivers from Device Manager by selecting Delete drivers for this software (checkbox ticked). Alternatively, if Cirrus HDA appears in Control Panel, uninstall it from there.

Then, shut down the computer instead of restarting. Boot the laptop back up and check if audio drivers are automatically detected by Windows. If not, download the latest Cirrus driver, install it, and restart to see if there are any changes.

Have you updated your Dell BIOS recently? I would not recommend doing so until all solutions have been carried out, as I don't trust the BIOS update. Recently, a kind of bug has appeared with Intel ME / Embedded Controller, where my audio completely disappears or sometimes works with a buzzing sound.

A similar issue is happening to me on a Dell Inspiron 3501 equipped with Cirrus CS8409. No solution has been found.

But your issue is actually recognized by Dell, and a solution article is presented here: Dell_Cirrus_Win11_AffectedPlatforms
