Headphones jack not detected

Vostro 5502

Vostro 5502

Hello guys,

I hope you are doing well

I am a sys admin for a IT company and I have a lot of Vostro 5502 laptops and they all have same problem.

So right on the topic for today.

Often laptop couldn't detect wired headphones when I plug them in. I have my pc updated like BIOS, Windows build and drivers, RealTek driver is latest version, Waves Maxx Audio etc. all up-to date.

And problem appears periodically again and again, and every time I have to restart the pc (sometimes with headphones attached), disable/enable audio driver, or repair WavesMaxxAudio (which not working at 90% of the cases) or just reinstall RealTek.

Worst part is that this happens always in my colleague meetings and I cannot just restart the pc on the middle of a meeting.

I honestly think the problem is with WavesMaxxAudio because sometimes even when I install it from Store it couldn't even start because of codec issues. I know I have the right codecs. Even I have installed K-lite Mega pack codecs. The app is enabled on start up but sometimes just refuse to work.

So is there any permanent solution for this kind of issue cause I couldn't find any proper of different ways to deal with this problem.

The most productive way to fight with this which I figured out is to reinstall RealTek driver with headphones attached to the pc.

But bottom line is this app is problematic and does not working correctly.

P.S. Vostro 5510 has this same problem very rarely.
