Is webcam light optional ?

Hello everyone.

I have a Vostro 3500 with i3 1115g4.

I am wondering how webcam light works.

Is this directly connected to webcam or is this possible to bypass light without physical modifications ?

I always worried about malicious softwares and one of my friends showed me how easy to hack a computer and i reinstalled my operating system. After he showed me this i am concerned and started to care about cyber-security.

neomadskills, . As per the manual, the camera light is part of the camera. White LED activates when the camera is on. Unfortunately, there is no way to bypass the light without physical modifications.
