VOSTRO 7590 SSD UPGRADE

Question

Hello,

I would like to upgrade storage in a model 7590 (current configuration 128gb SSD + 1tb HDD).

One option is to migrate system drive (128gb SSD) on a new SSD and replace the old one. But I see that the motherboard of this model has two M.2 slots - can I simply add new SSD to the free slot? Resulting in a configuration of 2 SDD + 1 HDD.

I would like to ask if I am overseeing anything, if adding is not possible what are the reasons?

One 2.5-inch hard-drive and one M.2 2230/2280 Solid-State Drive (SSD)
One 2.5-inch hard-drive and one M.2 2230/2280 Intel Optane storage

One slot for M.2 SSD, one slot for M.2 PCIe SSD and one bay next to the battery for a 2.5" HDD/SSD.

I replaced the existing SSD OS drive in my 7590 with a Crucial 1TB SSD. If you need more space for programs, you will need to clone and replace the existing drive. The Crucial website has all the info you need to get replacement drive of the size you want and cloning software. I had to decrypt the data drive since I did not have the PIN/Password that is embedded in the existing OS drive.
