:emotion-2::emotion-2:Success!!! I found some updates for the system bios and video adapter that I overlooked..... reinstalled quicktime and now its working.
I have yet to find anything that won't run on my 7x64, including Quicktime 7.6.5. What is yours doing - would it install at all, or does it die when you run it?
I watched a few movies on mine before posting. I'll take a better look when I get home - it seemed at a quick test to be running flawlessly. Is there a certain video you tried - or is it any video? Also, have you installed any other programs the may be competing with it (other than Windows Media Player)? Do you have other - possibly out of date - Apple software running/installed?
Quicktime installs o.k. but will not play any movies instead it says I need to download quiktime... also when I open the quicktime player the cursor is all distorted in the player window. I removed quicktime and tried again to install it fresh but did the same thing.... also tried to get it to work with the program compatibility but it still would not run.. I have now removed it again.... any ideas? what am I doing wrong?
It seems to be any video.... This is a new laptop Dell mod 1557 4gb mem I7 720@1.60 ghz...ati radeon hd 4570...all software that came with this sys is up to date also drivers, bios, etc,etc... I have not installed any other programs that would conflict with quicktime just what came with system.... I have another old system with win xp and quicktime works as it should, I did notice that under control panel befor I uninstalled quicktime it had a quicktime logo and it said "quicktime 32 bit" Realy appreciate your trying to help.

Good! I'm guessing it was the video update that did it. I was about to post that I couldn't find a single problem with mine, and was out of ideas.
Take care.
