Audigy software for Sigmatel boards.

Dell,
We know there is a fix for this because the users on here who got the Vista upgrade through you have received an upgrade disk and this software works.  Why has Dell ignored those of us who received our PCs with Vista preinstalled but before the Audigy fix was invented?

What is Audigy and what is the problem that it fixes? I upgraded my OS from XP to Vista, but my sound is bad and I am looking for a solution.

Dell has in service and support, a download page. Go there and look.

Those of us who received the disk purchased the Audigy software with XP then the upgrade came in, therefore, it was a pure entitlement...there was no upgrade.

When you purchased Vista preinstalled, did you also pay for the audigy upgrade?  I dont recal it being offered with those purchases but could be wrong.  If it was, and you paid for it, Im sure a CSR can set you up with the file.

Subsequently, audigy is not a fix in any way.  If you check the latest Sigmatel drivers, they work fine with Vista in all systems I know of....the Audigy is an enhanced program.

If you find with your system that sound is choppy, there are other posts relating to this, its not an issue solved by the software that I know of...

Do they really gdwrnch3?  I'll go look.  Gee, nope, they still don't have anything about it there, that is the problem.

My sound was choppy as well. I re-installed the audio driver and it works fine now.
