Exiting Windows XP reinstall & finding problem files
Having uninstalled McAfee Internet Security Suite & media programs the Dimension 2400 system is slow.
Attempting to perform a repair installation of Windows XP (SP1) stops with the blue screen message "BAD_POOL_CALLER" & goes on to suggest to boot to Safe Mode to uninstall programs & files that may be causing the repair to fail.
Booting to Safe Mode gives a message that installation cannot continue & reverts to attempting to complete the repair installation.
Anyone know how to exit the repair installation to return to the previous Windows XP setup, & then how to find out which programs & files may be causing the problems so they can be removed . . .

Removing the modem did the trick, thanks.
Now suspect that the system degradation may be due to the Intelligent Explorer spyware someone has inadvertantly installed. Lots about it on the forums. Seems its going to be a pain to remove.
