Dear All,
As per my observations, almost 70% of this forum participants have received their upgrade kits within about 2-3 days of posting their correspondences. First flight courier is an efficient enterprise, so people looking to trace their kits using the airway bill no. obtained from Avon Solutions & Logistics, Chennai by providing their tracking nos posted on their dell win7 profiles, will be getting the kits delivered at their doorsteps. Also, as soon as your status changes from DGM to DGM4, consider your kit has reached your city and its only a few miles away from home. The following are the contents of the upgrade kit:
-> Dell Windows 7 Upgrade Assistant (01 DVD)
-> Dell Windows 7 Operating System (01 DVD)
-> Customs clearance sheet ( Net Amount to be paid: $0.00) [This implies that no amount has to be paid even at the time of receiving the package]
-> Microsoft Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) containing Windows 7 Activation Key (25 characters)
-> Dell Instruction Manual (to be read before inserting any DVD provided with the package)
Note: The COA is a sticker, which can be tagged either at the back/battery Slot of your laptop, or on the cabinet of your desktop, basically wherever your Win Vista COA has been placed.
The installation time is approximately 1.75-2 hrs., majority of which will be taken up to temporarily remove you vital softwares, which will later on be updated after Windows has been installed. To install these softwares you will be needing to insert the Dell Windows 7 Upgrade Assistant DVD after installing Windows. The really surprising fact is an OS of 16 GB, takes lesser time to be installed than Windows XP!. Great engineering.
According to my usage experience, I would say Windows 7 is approximately 3-4 times faster than Windows Vista in terms of boot time, application processing speed, visual layout, Windows Themes and network interface.
Cheers.
This is my last post. I would like to extend my whole-hearted gratitude to the participants of this forum for being patient and updating us with the latest.

Sure man, will keep you posted. Read somewhere that DGM4 might be based in Singapore.
P.S. Even I am unsure about the shipping charges et al.

As far as I understand, DGM is not really a shipper. It stands for something like Dangerous Goods Management, and is somekind of a consultancy firm that helps regular shippers. Correct me if I am wrong.
If it is so, then this is really unprofessional on the part of Dell. Providing a shipper name like DGM, is as good as not providing any shipping details. I think it is very important for us to keep this thread alive. In case, the packages don't arrive, it would help, and be more effective, if all of us can raise the issue together.
Meanwhile, I guess we should all wait for a week. International packages take some time for shipping (3-4 days at least). If we do not receive our packages by mid next week, I guess we would need to escalate this issue.
P.S. I do not think that DGM and DGM4 are different. I guess it callousness on the part of the person who was typing in the details. The same shipment, to the same city, should have had the same shipper name.

lol@ dangerous good managment ... i dont think dell is sending some radioactive stuff , its just 2 dvd discs , i dont know why they choose some unknown shipper called dgm, atleast they shud have shipped to dell office in india ,there is one in bangalore and send to all users in india from bangalore thru courier , i would rather collect my dvd thru dell office rather being shipped by a unknown shipper dgm which doesnt have tracking facility and still yet not clear wether they will charge for the shipping and taxes

Thanks for the image :)
Did you received softwares like Dell webcam, Face recognition, etc with it? (I think they may be in Dell assistant dvd, not sure)
Also, are you able to do Clean Fresh installation with it? Does it installs the drivers and other dell s/w automatically, or do u have to use some other dvd?
