Outlook express problems
I had to uninstall my old Norton antivirus and install the new 2004 version. My outlook express is not quite working right now. I'm getting e-mail but when trying to get in I keep getting error messages with my password. I've switched many things in the accounts section but nothing is working. I really don't know what all the things mean. For example what should be the default? What does default mean? Should I check save password? Very frustrated. Help section doesn't explain what these things mean. HELP! I have windows 98 second edition.

I have to give my password 3 times and then I get this:
The host 'POP3' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'POP3', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

The information identifying your incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) servers can be found by opening Outlook Express and going to Tools|Accounts, highlighting your account and clicking Properties. The server names should be entere on the Servers tab (where you can also double-check the entry for your username and password).

I had the same problem a while back for no apparent reason. If you are using Zone Alarm, shutdown ZA and see if you can get your mail. If your mail can now be retrieved then uninstall ZA and then reinstall it. Worked for me and no problems since.

My e-mail problem started on a Friday. I use Mailwasher and suspected it. Then one time, I think on Saturday, I could retrieve my mail (after several tries), one time only. Then back to the error messages through Monday. I finally called my ISP later on Monday and asked them if they were having problems with their e-mail server. They said no problems on their end and I was the only one to call in. That's when I 'shut down zone alarm' and e-mail worked again.

"The server names should be entere on the Servers tab (where you can also double-check the entry for your username and password)." ??? I don't quite understand that sentence.
First, could you tell me if this is correct?:
When I go to internet accounts this is what I have set up:
Account type connection
couldbe1 mail local area network
POP.netzero.net mail (default) any available
POP3 mail any available
Is this set up right? Maybe this is the problem.
I've been to accounts/properties/servers but I'm not sure if everything is right.

My internet provider charges $1.95 a minute for instructions. This is why I'm asking questions here.
Does anybody know if the following is a correct setup?
