XPS 15z, Windows 10 drivers?

Will there be Windows 10 driver support for XPS 15z? If not, please consider it. And please make it proper, because the drivers for Windows 8 were incomplete and some of them, like Intel HD Graphics, were poorly written (flickering on the top of the screen, slow screen initialization on start up...), I had to roll back to Windows 7. As the rumors say, Windows 7 and 8 users will get free upgrade to Windows 10, so please release Windows 10 drivers. I don't want to miss this opportunity.

Well the Dell telephone warranty service technician told me that the odds were 90% that Dell would not be upgrading the drivers for the XPS 15z.

Hi,

Unfortunately I can't tell you right now whether there will be drivers or not because, simply, I don't know.  The entire roll out of Windows 10, for Dell, is still being evaluated and planned.  I don't have any idea at this point what will be decided on drivers for systems that have already been released.

As you said, Win10 is a free upgrade for customers and it is being offered by Microsoft.  A lot of the driver questions will depend on how the component manufacturers respond to the Win10 release.

All I can tell you at this point is that our product and engineering groups are working on plans for the Win10 release, they receive feedback on which systems customers want drivers for, and when they have a specific plan in place we'll be able to discuss it further, so keep checking back for more information.

Thanks for your feedback,

Todd

I will.  They read many of these posts on the forums.

I have try windows 10 but now you could not find official driver for your laptop with windows 10. However to solve this problem you can download some driver package on the internet for multi machine. Such as easy driver, wan driver, ...

And with windows 10 you can run our Magento shop by brand extension corectly

So Windows 10 is out and when I go to product support page it says "Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade". http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/xps-15z/diagnose

Will XPS 15z ever be tested?

I tried Windows 10 with Win 8 drivers and I encountered issues like slow boot, display driver crashes, and unresponsive touchpad.

It could be that the problem was with Windows and not the driver, but I was so annoyed, I rolled back to Win 8.1.

Anyways, it seems there will be no official support for XPS 15z.

hello Tod.  Well it's been almost 5 months since the above post and I am also wondering if the 15z will be enabled to operate with Windows 10.  I am having problems with Windows 10 and I am hoping Dell will make my system compatible.  And so I am wondering if you would check for  any new information regarding the above post.  Even a clear no would be helpful for me because then I will know where I stand.  Thank you,

Scott

I just installed Windows 10 Pro 64 bit on a Dell XPS 15z (L511Z). I performed a clean install (deleting all partitions). I used the newly discovered method where you copy gatherosstate.exe from the Windows 10 install ISO and generate a GenuineTicket.xml file and save it and them copy it to the Windows 10 cleaning installed system. Look it up. This method works great. It activates Windows 10 without needing to upgrade first.

If I look in Device Manager the only thing without a working driver is this "Unknown Device" with and exclamation. I looked up the Hardware ID for this device and found out that it is the free fall sensor that does not have a working driver. I don't know if the Windows 7 or 8 version of this driver will work. I don't care to test it because I have a Solid State Drive and I don't need the free fall sensor anyway.  I do remember when I cleanly upgraded Windows 7 a couple years ago on this very computer that Device Manager had the same problem after a clean install of Windows 7 and the fix was to download the free fall sensor driver from Dell (that was back before I had an SSD).

Windows 10 by the way works really nice on this XPS 15z laptop.
