XPS 8960, not detecting my RTX 4070 Super
Hi, I have had 8960 for half a year without an external GPU, and now I have decided to install one and Bought NVIDIA RTX4070 SUPER, but it won't start the windows on the first page of BIOS showing the card. I tested the card with my other desktop, and it is working - I tested this Dell 8960 with another MSI card (I don't know the model), and it also won't start - I also read in this forum the same question said it solved, but no solution was posted !? So How, like any standard computer on this planet, I can install a new GPU in a PCI slot and run and do whatever I need to do , not spending more and more time with problems and tasks from 20 years ago !?>

it is some windows update driver conflict with the gpu. connect monitor to integrated video port while the RTX is installed, to be safe clone the Dell boot drive to a test hdd of same size, uninstall Dell boot drive, boot PC from test hdd using integrated video, go inside device manager to check display adapter. If it lists a basic Microsoft video adapter, let Win 11 automatically look for and download appropriate driver. when everything works and you can get Windows video from RTX too, clone it back to Dell boot drive

@redxps630 If I install new windows with the RTX on, will it work? Because this sounds too complicated ... I'm just asking. If not, I will fight.

yes you can just use a test HDD to do a clean Windows 11 install and test the RTX driver install by Windows automatically. remember to use integrated video port to get video at the testing stage until you observe Win DL and Install a proper appearing RTX 4070 driver. then you can try connect video to RTX directly for final test

Well, after I did everything said in the comments didn't help
I copied the windows with Acronis and tried to update the driver, etc, but when no device is found ... you can`t search for the right driver.
So what I think helps is Windows updates a couple of times. I still had no luck, but combined with Device Manager, Clicking on Other devices, and Clicking on PCI slot update driver, the monitor blinks, and the video card shows up in Display adapters. Anyway, you helped me a lot, and the answer was fast! THANK YOU! I think copying the windows on another drive wastes time unless you have something valuable on it because you can do the same procedure on your drive straight

I think the first question I would ask is: are you meeting the 4070 power requirements?
