Hello. I kept using my Dell XPS One 2710 on Intel i7 with Windows 8.1 since the first days of 2013, which makes 13 years now. Many software stopped working but the main stuff I used was running so I didn't want any change. Recently I had an electricity cut at home and my 2Tb HDD stopped working properly.

I managed to backup my data and then replaced the HDD by an SSD and also added some RAM to have 16Gb instead of 8Gb.

I previously updated the BIOS till version A14, the very last one to my knowledge. The version of the motherboard was indicated as A01 in the specialized software. There were some other letters and figures, too.

So I installed Windows 10 using Rufus few days ago.

The drivers installed well from the CD received together with the computer back in 2013. Then I updated them using some Driver Booster software. I had to return to the old driver for the soundcard, though, it worked better. 

I also don't use anymore that Intel Rapid Storage Technology with the isage of a 32Gb mSATA SSD drive for cash.

For the moment I plan to keep using this PC for as long as it will be possible 🤞
