Battery wont charge
XPS 13 9033
Recently replaced battery due to swelling. So new battery and new power cable too. The laptop won't charge the new battery. I've reinstalled the drivers.
Inside it looks like everything is connected ok.
Not sure what to do to resolve.
The laptop is way out of warranty etc.
Many thanks for any advice.

Non-OEM adapters usually will power the system but not charge the battery -- try a Dell OEM AC adapter (or a local computer repair shop that has one you can use to test with).
It could still be a battery issue either because of the third party battery or leftover damage from the swollen one -- however, extensive repair on a system this old and worth $50-100 total is something to consider.

First the correct model -- there is no XPS 9033?
Are the battery and (presumably the AC adapter) OEM Dell?

@ejn63 apologies 9333
no both the battery and the adapter (I've tried 2) are not OEM Dell.
Thanks

Does the system recognize the adapter (F2 at powerup to check)? Note: the system WILL run but WILL NOT charge if the the adapter shows unknown.

That leaves the battery as the issue. Contact the seller for a replacement.

Replaced battery....and it still wont charge even with Dell power adapter - so not sure what else to do - thinking it must be a hardware fault. Works fine on mains - with or without the battery. Thanks
