Laptop wont boot and stuck on Dell logo Screen

I recently updated my Windows 10. Post update, my laptop is behaving weirdly. When it is started, it stucks on dell logo, just wont Boot up. However after force shut down by power button and restarted, it boots fine and logs me in. However, it is being observed that none of the settings like remembering passwords or any changes are again wiped off. I mean when i say remember me on this PC. After restarting, it just forgets. Frustrating me. Someone please help!!! Thanks in advance!!!

@speedstep can u help??

See my solution to the boot issue here. There is an issue between your current BIOS and the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver. There have been numerous posts about this issue here in this forum.

Sharing @johnptd solution:

Try turning off "Fast startup". There have been issues in the past with "fast startup".

1. You can find it in "Settings" > "System" > "Power and sleep" > "Additional power settings".

2. Click the "Choose what the power buttons do" on the left menu list.

2. Click on "Change settings that are currently available" link.

3. Uncheck "Turn on fast startup" and save.

Your system will now do a complete shutdown when you shut it down, It will take a little longer when you boot up, but it wont be much unless you have a very old computer.

Remembering password to login will have to be re set.

10 update would make it forget that .

You will have to be admin login and run NETPLWIZ

And un check users must use password to login.

windows key with R then netplwizwindows key with R then netplwiz

@Madhurr: I also had same problem. I tried lots of solutions but didn't work.

However, I changed boot manager setting (UEFI with Legacy OPROM) and worked for me.

First, on start up, press F12.

Second, click on Peripheral Device setting (OPROM setting).

Third, set boot mode to UEFI with Legacy OPROM.

Then, restart your laptop.

Hope it works for you as well.

Hello,

How do you get to SETTINGS (to do the above process) when the Dell logo is stuck?

Thanks

@SudipThaguna Thank you.

It worked for me. But I think it made rebooting a bit late. But it's ok, that late is not so much uncomfortable or Not much bothering
