Is Highly Active Topic

should the next Dell XPS series have NVIDIA GPUs instead of intel arc graphics

does anyone else think the next XPS to be released should have an NVIDIA gpu option it would make it faster and less embarrassing since the 2024 model is faster than the 2026 model.

the high performance market is taken I understand that, however the next XPS to come should have the NVIDIA graphics cards to be able to compete with others laptops in its class, not to make it a different class.

the 2026 Dell XPS is slower than the 2024 Dell XPS, this is because the gpu Intel arc graphics are way slower than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050, the NVIDIA runs 2 gb faster than the 4 gb Intel arc graphics system

they both can be assisted by depending on the processor you can get up to 8 to 12 Xe graphics cores if you get the Series 3 Intel Core Ultra X9 Processor 388H by about

*3D Viewport Frame Rates: 60% increase

    *Synthetic Graphics Scores: 100% increase

    *Raw Compute Throughput: 80% increase

but without the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 the 2026 XPS is still running way slower than most other laptops at this price point

One of the XPS 14 models is available with an nVidia option.  Unfortunately, the slim chassis of the XPS is very poorly suited to running such a power-hungry GPU -- it just doesn't have the thermal mass to keep the system cool.  I suspect that's partly why the nVIdia option is absent from many of these.

Couple that with the current undersupply of computer components due to the AI boom and you have the explanation.

they could probably do it if they sacrificed some desighn features for an optimal cooling system and better battery

In which case that market is covered by Alienware.

true, but for future models of the XPS a it would be nice to see a  better GPU especially since the performance of the new XPS laptops are lacking compared to others in this class and for a premium laptop it should have better performance witch you would get from a better gpu so yes it would be undoubtedly right to say that if you were to redesign it that would essentially just be an alianware or a Dell precision series but I think it is necessary that the performance gets better in the future iterations of the xps because this is probably one of the biggest fields the XPS could improve in. as well as that if you keep the premium compact design of it but find a way to increase the cooling and add a higher milliamp hour battery the XPS could be the promised high performance premium laptop its exposed to be. and a better fan(s) would be

*Sunon MagLev (Magnetic Levitation) Fans: these fans are made from one of Dell's primary fan suppliers so it would easily be an option for Dell.

*Delta Electronics High-Density Blower Fans: these fans are extremely powerful and Dell already produces them

pair either of these up with a better designed heat block going to the vapor chamber and the cooling system is fixed and I would go with the maglift fans they're more energy efficient than the current ones on the xps

in fact you could probably get away with the NVIDIA RTX PRO™ 2000 Blackwell Generation, 8 GB GDDR7 being cooled by the maglift fans for future models

and for the battery you could use 2 half sized batteries that together have a higher mah and wattege

that in my opinion would make an excellent option for a future XPS series
