XPS 15 9500 Overheating / Thermal Events After BIOS v1.22 Update

On Windows 11 Pro (managed via Windows Autopilot on a Dell-provided base image), I keep getting intermittent shutdowns without warning due to thermal events (both present in Event Viewer as well as, occasionally, noted on pre-boot).

I've hit the fan ports with computer duster, the machine lives on the same desk that it has for the last few years and has plenty of airflow.  Only started experiencing these issues in the last month or 2 and they seemed to coincide with the most recent round of driver and BIOS updates.  Impossible to downgrade from 1.22 to 1.21, so I can't go back to see if the BIOS is actually the cause, but I literally never had a thermal issue prior to this.

Dell wants me to wipe to an OEM image, but this is my work computer and other folks with the same model are also experiencing thermal issues.  Currently, the only reliable way to run it is on the "Cool" Dell Power Management preset which basically puts this 8 core 64GB RAM laptop into limp mode, maxing out CPU at 1.2Ghz and making productive work difficult.

Anyone else experiencing this issue lately?  Dell Support refuses to escalate unless I wipe which isn't an option.

I had the same your problem..

Now with this version it looks ok..

Actually I think "SupportAssist" helped me to fix this problem too (https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/supportassistforpcs/cp/supportassistforpcs)

Now everything works again.. I disabled any automatic Dell driver update
