XPS 15 9500 WiFi Issues
Had my new laptop around 3 weeks now, and it's great in all respects, EXCEPT the WiFi. It continually tells me the signal is weak, yet I have an Archer AC4000 with a 500Mbps internet connection, that quite happily throws out a strong signal for 4 other laptops, 3 phones & innumerable smart speakers, cameras, etc, with two 5GHz bands and a 2.4GHz band.
But my new XPS always seems to have a weak signal, regardless of how close I am to the router. The Killer app keeps telling me to buy a new access point! I've run diagnostics, even tried another router, but it makes no difference.
My previous laptop, a Dell Inspiron around 6 years old, never had any problems with strength or speed over the WiFi.
This just seems very odd, that the newest, priciest and best tech that I have, the XPS, is the only one struggling with the Wi-Fi?
Filling in this, the reCAPTCHA takes a while because half the time Dell tells me it can't connect to it?!

1. Download the latest Wi-Fi Network card driver and save it to the Windows desktop
2. Open the Device Manager- Network adapters. Find your WiFi Network card
3. Right-click it, click Uninstall, check the uninstall driver and confirm
4. Install the downloaded WiFi Network card driver. Restart when done

Greetings,
I'm Shilpa, one of the Managers from the Dell Social Media team.
I was reviewing your case and I see that the reset that was performed resolved the Wi-Fi issue. I am truly happy to know that you have decided to retain the system. At any point, if you need any technical assistance, we are only a message away.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Best Regards,
Shilpa

Also having wifi connection issues with a new XPS 15 9500. It keeps disconnecting. Just had a tech on with chat and he reinstalled drivers and BIOS. Couldn't find a problem, I still have the problem - it is worse than before. No other computers or devices in the house have this problem. He sent an email for a $99. repair. Great business model: sell a faulty product and then charge for repairs. from Dell: "As your issue is software-related, the fastest way to get help is with our online Software Repair service. With it, you will be able to schedule a one-on-one support session with a Dell certified expert for $99 with a no-fix-no-fee guarantee"
Can barely post this since the CAPTCHA is having difficulty being displayed.

Yes same here, today got the motherboard replaced, but a few hours later the Wifi and bluetooth dropped again and won't come back. Really frustrating.

Hey, for me I was able to follow these steps and it fixed the issue for me:
1. delete old drivers in device manager under network (make sure to check remove all drivers)
2. install latest drivers from dell for wifi card
3. uninstall the "Killer Control Center" program
after that I haven't had any disconnecting issues. Hope my solution works for you!

I'm having the same issues. I've got my new XPS sitting on the same desk as an older Dell Latitude. The XPS 15 can barely connect. The older Dell Latitude has been running all day without issue.
I spent about an hour on the phone with Dell support the other day, but didn't fix the issue. They sent me an email where I could pay them $100 to fix it. Seems pretty crappy. The laptop has had this problem since new (in Feb '21). I've just been dealing with it, but finally got around to trying to get it resolved. I was informed I only had 30 days to return the laptop, so I'm stuck with it.

I had similar issues with the XPS 15 9500 (Feb. 2021) and the Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650s 160Mhz Wireless Network Adapter (201D2W) wlan card. The main issue I encountered was that the wireless connection started at normal speed which is around 45 Mbps downspeed for my internet setup and dropped after a while to a maximum of 2 Mbps. The only solution was to manually disconnect and reconnect the wireless internet connection, and I had to do this like 50 times on a day.
I have literally spent many hours trying all the solutions I found on this forum and other forums. None of the solutions worked. In the end, I concluded that it is not a hardware issue but really a driver issue. Whatever Intel or Dell support might claim, do not install and use the Killer Performance Suite. Both the Killer drivers & software just do not work correctly. I assume that both Intel and Dell versions of the Killer Performance Suite are still based on legacy code from Rivet Networks, and it just doesn't work correctly.
This is my solution, and my wireless internet connection now works 100% correctly.
1. Download the following driver from Intel. At the time of writing, the latest version is 22.80.1 and supports both Windows 10 and Windows 11: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19351/windows-10-and-windows-11-wi-fi-drivers-for-intel-wireless-adapters.html
2. Disable automatic driver updates via Windows Update to avoid that the Intel driver we are about to install will be automatically updated by some other driver. There are different ways to do this; I simply used the registry method: https://www.minitool.com/news/disable-automatic-driver-updates-win-10-009.html
3. Uninstall all Killer drivers & software, via 'Apps & features' and/or 'Device Manager-Network adapters'.
4. Install the Intel driver you downloaded in step 1. Restart when done.
5. Go to 'Device Manager - Network adapters'. Right-click on the Killer wlan card and choose 'Properties'. Verify that the Intel driver (version 22.80.1) is installed. If your modem/router does not support Wifi 6 (ax), go to 'Advanced' and put '801.11n/ac/ax wireless mode' on '3. 801.11ac'

Thank you for sharing pve321 but this doenst do any good for my internet connections. The speed is still arround 2/3/4/5 mbit per second. Normally it is 100/200 mbit, and the connectionbar on the wifi is dropping and climbing like ever before.
The only thing that works is sitting next to the router/wifi modem. So in my home office i have installed an extra wifi router next to the laptop. Sitting in the livingroom is possible for only some emailing. Just browsing arround isnt even possible.
Never a dell for me. but be advised: lenovo is also terrible at their quality checks. Before buying this xps 9500 i had orderd an carbon x1. first that thing was just dead, did nothing. the second one had 3 dead pixels in the screen. These companies nowadays just building hardware in cheap and moisty countries. for a few buxs an hour some poor guy is sweating tears in our motherboards and we just complaining... i have read some unboxing from the 9500xps, some dudes had dust and sand in their boxes and on the laptop keyboards... go figure..
and dell is like Ponius Pilate;, washing their hands in innocence

I'm having a similar issue with my Del XPS 9510. The wifi seems to work ok but it just has a weaker signal than pretty much any other device. I partially solved the problem by plugging into an ethernet jack near my desk (my condo is wired for ethernet). The rest of the time my wifi works ok, just that it seemed to be a weak signal. I chalked it up to a poorly designed antenna, but if it gets worse I'll start effing around with the drivers.
Edit: I bought an ethernet to USB-C adapter, as there is not ethernet outlet on the laptop.

This worked! Thank you so much! A few things were different on my machine, but overall this was incredibly helpful.
