Hi,

My laptop will not turn on after installing windows update and there is a July 15/16 Microsoft article  KB5101650 that says the update causes over heating to XPs laptops. I installed update, now my motherboard needs to be replaced, I’m getting 1 amber 6 white lights. Dell refuses to admit this may have been even a chance that it could have caused this problem and told me to write here to the community.

The tech says that over heating can not break the board but the lights say my ec chip may be the problem, but overheating can cause solder runs to break due to flexing of the board. 

has anyone else experienced this? Microsoft acknowledged that this happens to XPs machines but Dell does not even when there are 10 articles written on the topic saying Dell reached out to Microsoft.
