<p>Studied general electronics 1985 but gradually migrated to PC specifics over the following years due to the tendancy of bespoke electronics based systems to switch to PC solutions. Worked through Dos 2 to 6.22 and NT3.51 upwards.</p> <p>Continue to have an interest in hardware related  technology despite being now a software support engineer. This is particularly due to the fact that what passes off as a hardware engineer nowadays barely knows what end of a soldering iron is hot. Tend to get hot under the collar when advice is offered for problems which are unsafe.</p> <p>Personal systems include a Dell GX270 MT with H/S drive cage as a home build WHS, GX620 USFF PC and a Intel i7 based workstation.</p>
