About me

Licensed Professional Engineer. I am presently starting up a Professional Engineering Consulting business after providing engineering services to the Empire State for 27 years. Began FORTRAN programming in 1974 as a student in a new and "experimental" high school course......Computer Science!

In the early '80's after establishing a voluntary in-service training program for engineers on the use of micro-computers in engineering design, I learned how difficult it was to teach old dogs new tricks.

My computer use now is no longer programming-intensive. Except for the computers I have built, I have only owned Dells. Quite satisfied, really. The old Dell Community Forum was an incredible source of information. I've learned more there than any and all other places combined. I don't believe the new forums are salvageable in their present form. I think the greatest tragedy is the information from the old forum appears to be lost forever.

Spare time activities are usually outdoors and involve my son. Current computer-related "experiments" are multiple booting, imaging and 64-bit Operating Systems (XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Linux).
