Re: Connecting Dimension 5150 front-panel mic/phone jacks to audio header on SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeGamer

The Dell front panel connector is a Dell Proprietary and undocumented connector.  There is a recent post by a user that says the front panel Mic/Headphone sub assembly white connector is compatible with the cable that is provided with some Xfi models.  I have an E510 which is the US version of the 5150 but I don't have an Xfi sound card in mine so I can't confirm that it actually is compatible.  That's about the only possibility to use the Dell I/O panel, unless you are an electronics tech and can reverse engineer it.  The other option is to get a standard ATX type case I/O panel and rig that up and connect it to the sound card.
