We have also experienced this issue with R630's. The jump you are trying to make between iDRAC versions is quite big. I would suggest upgrading using less of a jump, perhaps which is downloadable here http://www.dell.com/support/home/uk/en/ukbsdt1/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=4950Y you can then login to your iDRAC interface and deploy from there.
