RE: 100% Disk usage in new laptop running Windows 10
First check your build of Windows 10. Press [Windows] and [ r ] and type in msinfo32 and press [Enter]. The build should be 10.0.15063 Build 15063 (Version 1703). The 100 % disc usage was more prone on older builds. If you have Build 10.0.14393 Build 14393 (Version 1607), Build 10.0.10586 (Version 1511) or Build 10.0.10240 (Version 1507) you should update to the latest build by launching the Update .exe here:
Sometimes the issue is due to some outdated drivers. Have you tried installing the newest version of?
Intel Management Engine Interface:
Launch the setup from the ME_SW_MSI folder.
Intel Rapid Storage Technology:
If the latest driver from Intel doesn't work on your system. Right click the start button and select Device Manager. Expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and tell me whats listed. Right click the device and select properties and the select the Details tab. Under property select Hardware IDs and let me know what they are.
Also sometimes in Windows 10 notifications cause 100 % Disc Usage. Right click the start button and select settings. Then select system. Then select notifications and actions. Turn every setting here to off.
