Hi. Hope someone can help me on this. 1. Just to confirm OME 2.1 supports Compellent SC4020 ? 2. I have 2x R630 servers with iDRAC 8 Enterprise, do I need to install anything on the servers to monitor the hardware with Open Manage Essentials ? Will iDRAC 8 Enterprise be enough? 3. The servers are running ESXi 6.0, I just want to monitor the hardware health. I don't need to monitor the VMs. Would OME and iDRAC 8 Enterprise be enough ? or do I need to acquire something else  or install plugins on the servers? Thanks, Paul

Hi. Does the SCv2020 uses disk folders and we assign disk to disk folders ? On the disk folder can we assign multiple RAID levels on the same disk folder? For example we have 11x Disks and RAID 10 & RAID 5-9 is assigned to the same set of disks. What is the maximum hosts supported by SCv2020F ? Thanks, Paul

Hi, I plan to get two SC4020 and configure them for live volume on a single site. All my servers will be running vSphere 6.0 U1. Questions. 1. If the primary SC4020 fails, will the secondary SC4020  take the entire load ? Will there be any down time? 2. Can I load balance between the  two SC4020 ? Can both Compellent host primary volumes at the same time ? 3. If I locate my secondary SC4020 offsite what bandwidth is recommended if I would deploy live volume ? 4. Will live volume work with both  iSCSI & FC? Thanks, Paul

Hi. after talking to my Dell rep, he advised me to acquire LSI 9207-8e SAS HBA  to be installed on my R630 so I can connect MD3060e. Question 1. Can I connect two (2) R630 to a single MD3060e. Each R630 will have one (1) LSI 9207-8e SAS HBA. 2. On the MD3060e storage enclosure manual it states "Dell 12Gbps SAS HBA (for Dell PowerEdge 13th generation servers); Support for 3 dense enclosures only" What does 3 dense enclosure only  mean?  Thanks, Paul

Hi. Thanks for the clarifications. Each disk will only be a member of a single disk group. For example Logical Drive with 12x 300 GB @ RAID 10 will only have one (1) Virtual disks consuming all the usable capacity. I'm sorry but I seem cannot find the limitations you are referring to. I already ready the specifications parts on the link you provided. Thanks, Paul

Hi. Daniel, This is the only restriction I found Maximum number of virtual disks per disk group 16.  Is this what you are referring to ? As I understand, for example (correct me if I am wrong) Create a disk group with 12 Disks at RAID 10, and you can create maximum of 16 virtual disks on that Disk Group configured at RAID 10. What is the maximum number of disks per disk group ? Is this 32 Disks? Thanks, Paul
Hi. Daniel, Thanks for the reply. How about for Question number 1. Would I be able to create 5x RAID groups ? 4x RAID 10 and 1x RAID 1 ? Thanks, Paul

Hi, Donald. Thanks for all the answers. Hope you can answer this last question of mine that is the source of all my confusion. As I understand from "110-6162-EN-R5_VSM_Release_Notes_web" VASA and VSM will run on any  vSphere License. Question: 1. How will VSM (which has VASA) communicate with vCenter without VASA. Since, Essentials Plus does not have VASA included. 2. Can we get a reference document stating  that VSM will run with vSphere Essentials Plus. Thanks, Paul
