161 is the port for SNMP. Can you try some other SNMP tool to check it works fine from OME system to unknown server? Troubleshoot tool is indicating a problem and OME would also not work.

Hi, thanks for the query. The SNMP community name/string is case sensitive. Please ensure it perfectly matches in OME discovery range with what is being set on the server under SNMP settings. Along with this, please also ensure there is no firewall between OME and the servers blocking SNMP packets. Hope this helps.

For firmware updates, please visit System Update tab in OM Essentials. Configuration tab is meant for configuration compliance workflows. By default, firmware and driver compliance is done against the online Dell catalog (always latest and greatest). Following paper would help to implement the same. https://downloads.dell.com/solutions/general-solution-resources/White%20Papers/Update%20Dell%20server%20hardware%20with%20Dell%20OpenManage%20Essentials.pdf If you wish to create your own catalog using DRM and use it in OME, following paper has the guidelines to go about it. https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_software/esuprt_ent_sys_mgmt/openmanage-essentials-v25_white-papers1_en-us.pdf

Hi, I would like to know what you want to achieve by baselining. Is it the firmware and drives baseline or device settings (configuration) baseline? I would provide further direction based on this. Please also note: Both of the above baselining features are only available for Dell servers and chassis (along with IO Aggregators). Storage and networking (TOR/standalone) devices don't have that support available for them.
I tried and package extracts without any issue. Can you try again or share a screenshot of error?
Hi, Please cross post this query to appropriate Dell EMC Storage community forum for quick assistance. https://www.dell.com/community/Storage/ct-p/ESStorage
The link is corrected with right package now. Please make use of it.
We are checking this out. Will get back with an update.
There are 15 files in the zip, and one of the file is updateSNMP.exe indeed. Hope you did not face any issues during zip extraction?
Please use the following download link while the article page gets fully updated (in a day or two): http://downloads.dell.com/ome/SNMP-Config-Tool-v1.1-A00.zip

Hi, thanks for the query. Please get in touch with Dell Support. They would like to take a closer look and find out the reason(s) for network failures. Additionally, have you explored management via iDRAC (out-of-band channel)? Is it something that can be adopted if works without problems?
That is right. No device classification, only trap formatting.

Hi, thanks for the query. You need to take below steps. Once they are in place, you'll see emails coming in for preferred conditions. Configure SNMP traps on all iDRAC to be sent to OME (in all preferable situations). Configuration deployment feature of OME can be used for this purpose (fee based). Can also be done using RACADM scripts or 1x1 iDRAC console. Set up email action in OME for the iDRACs / event category / severity you are interested in.
If it is non-Dell hardware, MIB import only facilitates event formatting so that they become user understandable. It does not make them discover-able under a known device type.

I am afraid such configuration is not available in OME. I'll pass on this valuable feedback to the concerned team.

Hi, While configuring the discovery range, what discovery option did you chose and with iDRAC IPs or the chassis (CMC) IP? Please note - For ideal behavior and access to all applicable features, you need to use complete chassis discovery option and supply CMC IP and it's credentials.
Please get in touch with Dell Support to get further help towards resolution.
Hi, thanks for the query. Please help with below information. What version of OME is being used? Is ICMP ping enabled in the environment and same allowed in OME?
