That should work. I am using an Asus Strix GTX1080 Ti in mine. Just clear your drivers off before you start up with the new card. Use Display Driver Uninstaller, not the Windows method. That card will only use 1 - 8 pin power connector off the rail (there are 6 pins connectors and one 8 pin, so you could run two of them SLI as they only consume 180 watts TDP).
