Hello, are there any news about this hotfix or perhaps newer hotfixes? I have to do an MSM installation at a customer with 100 single nodes and 2 Grid systems. As BRM don´t work here since 3 years we hoped that MSM can do the monitoring better. The customer has just update the Avamar systems to version 7.4.1., and I hope I don´t have to install a hotfix on all 100 single nodes...

Is there any best practice how to setup replication in a AV/DD environment? I made the experience that the replication traffic is routed over the management network . Or in other words the network port(s) to which the Hostname of the DD is pinned and not the interface group network cards. Although when I make static routes it don´t work at a customer.

Hi, thanks for your reply. That means I should create one dataset for a daily full backup and anotehr dataset where I make a incremental backup every hour for example if I have a RPO of 1hour? Because I though that I can role backup to every point in time with the tail-log backup functionallity whe I do a restore?

Hello, is there a best practive guide for SQL backups with Avamar available? For example, do you make only 1 full backup per day with the Force incremental backup after full backup option or do you set up some incremental backups during the day to save the transaction logs? I am not sure if this transaction log backups are necessary because I can use the tail-log backup for restores? Do you include the Windows filesystem backup in the dataset for SQL or only the SQL Plugin?

Hello Amol, thanks. Any idea how to install the plugin when using a single node server. As I understood when using a AVE the plugin in vSphere is istalled by the AVE, what about using a single node? I tried running ebrserver.pl script on the single node, but this only enabled the File-Level-Restore function, but not the web client plugin.

Hi, is the plugin for the vSphere web client only available with a Avamar Virtual Edition or is it possible to use it with a Grid or single node server too? As we have some installations with Avamar Single Node and Data Domain it would be great if this would altough work with the plugin. I ask this becaue when I have a look in the "AV 7.3 Plugin for vSphere Web Client " user guide i read this: But when I log in to the vSphere web client I see this:

Hello, MFR over IFGROUPS is support (ReleaseNotes 5.7.0.10). Dynamic interface groups are now available for DD Boost managed file replication (MFR). Dynamic interface groups with MFR provide greater replication performance via link aggregation and better resiliency through link failover with these features: l Support for replication over extended LANs or WANs. l Support for all MFR replication topologies (one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-one, bidirectional, and the like). l NAT translation support between source and target Data Domain systems. l Support for IPv4 or IPv6, VLANs and alias IPs l Available to all DD Boost ecosystem partners that support MFR and DD OS 5.7. So I am not sure what to do. I have only 2 x optical 10Gbit and don´t want to take one of them out of the IFGROUP. Is there any other solution for this?

Hello, I have a AV/DD replicating solution with 2 x M1200 and 2 x DD2500 and want to know how to setup replication between the DDs on a dedicated NIC. On both DD systems I have created a DDBoost Interface Group for the backup traffic which runs on 2 10GbE optical ports (eth0a/eth0b). The management port is on ethMa. The backup from VMware clients, physical clients and NDMP node runs on the 2 10GbE ports. So far so good . But I saw that the repliaction between the DD systems is always running on the ethMa port, which has to be changed to run although on the 10GbE ports. As I setup the repliaction on the Avamar side, I have no idea how to route the replication traffic on these 10GbE ports. I have setup a host entry on both DDs where the hostname of the partner DD is routed to one of the 10GbE IP-Adresses, but this didn´t help. Anyone who has setup this already?

Hello mikeut, please let me know if you have found a solution for this port opening issu. I have no idea what else I can do. Afaik I understand the security guide the port has to be open from the vCenter server to the vRPA and not vice versa, right? This is open in my environment. I altough have seen in the netstat command line, that one WAN IP (eth0) adress of one vRPA has a connectino to the vCenter server, but not the LAN IP (eth1) adress. This is confusing me too. Is it right, that eth0 is the WAN IP and eth1 is the LAN IP`? Screenshot netstat: Screenshot vRAP1 IP settings:

Hi Idan, I have done a fresh installation with fresh downloaded installation files version 4.3.1 and the new deplyment manager GUI. Before that I have followed the deployment guide to remove the former RP4VM installation. Deployment fine again but with the same result. Btw the new deployment manager works great and more user friendly than the old one. I understand that port 7225 has to be open, but this is a demo environment with no firewall and no ports blocked. So perhaps someone can help me, where I have to do some editing to get this port open on the vCenter Server. When I use netsat -a the wether 7225 port nor the vRPAs are listed. I will send you the system information by mail if this is ok for you.
Hello Idan, I have attached the sysem logs, perhaps you can see something in the logfiles.
Where can I find this security guide?

Hello, I want to deploy a test installation with RP4VM (version 4.3 SP1) , but I always get the the same issue that after a successfull deployment the RP4VM cluster is not visible in the web client and I can´t add a datastore or protect VMs. Here is altough some output from CLI on the cluster IP address: System problems:   WARNING: You are using an unlicensed trial version for non-commercial use only of EMC RecoverPoint▒ for VMs. Clusters problems: None WANs problems: OK Groups problems: OK I alreday have restarted the web client and even the vCenter server serveral times and altough did 3 installations. I can ping all the VMkernle iSCSI ports from the ESX server to the RPAs and back, and the cli connectivity tests are ok. So perhaps anyone has an idea what I can do to get the cluster visible.
When will this next release will be available?

Hello, 2 questions: 1.     Is it possible to setup a VSAN stretched cluster with VxRail? 2.     When a customer needs lets say 80TB of usable storage space but has a VMware environemt where for example 2 x VxRail 120 would be enough from the compute view. What is the solution for this? I think to add more VxRail appliances/nodes only for storage would be too expensive (especially in competition against  for example UCS VSAN solution with rack servers with internal storage).

Hello, first I would strongly recommend to use DDBoost for Veeam backups if you have the boost license for the Data Domain systems. Then you can add the DD just with the Veeam Deduplication System Wizzard. The traffic is sent to these interfaces which are configured in the ddboost interface group. As ddboost is doing it´s own path failover and load balancing you don´t need to configure the two 10GbE as LACP. Just give each one a IP and put them in the interface group. The only way I know how you can route the replication traffic over another than the management interface is to use the host mapping on the Data Domain systems.
