Let's try a logical approach.
Make a system restore point.
Try uninstalling the program you wish to remove.
Restart your computer.
Now try everything and see it thing are working. If so, then it has been removed. If NOT, then use system restore and go back to the restore point. Please be patient, when using system restore. I have seen a black screen for almost 5 minutes, after login. This is normal and do NOT turn the computer off.

Hit the Windows key and the R keys at the same time. Type
Hit enter. The click onstartup. See if the DMBCU is there. If so, try unchecking it, then restart the computer. See if that helps to remove the icon. If it doesn't work, you can go back in and check the box.
