About me

I purchased my Dell Inspiron 1750 17.3" laptop from Walmart 3 years ago for about $998, plus a warranty for about $120 (can't remember exactly what I paid for it) . Overall, it's in fairly good shape. I've just replaced the battery for the 3rd time using a generic version from BatteryDepot.com. Here are current issues I'm experiencing:

It, now, always makes me start in 'normal' mode

It restarts on its own sometimes (perhaps this is because it's doing updates)

It won't shut down, it's simply restarts, even after rebooting the disk to factory settings.

The graphics card is not compatible with Adobe Photoshop Extended Creative Suite 6

One of my USB ports (on the right side) is totally loose

The SD card holder has crumbled apart

That's about it. I'm trying to hold on to this one for as long as I can.

Would I buy a Dell again? Maybe a higher quality version made with more durable casing, faster processor and mega media cards. I am in the digital media field and really need compatibility to the latest relative software. I'd like my next laptop to last me 5+ years, as I realize this one won't.
