VTL のRetention Lock の利用を検討しております。
DDOSは8.6になります。

 

①サポートはガバナンスモードのみでしょうか。
→ご認識の通りです。

仮想テープ ライブラリー(VTL)プロトコルは、リテンション ロックのガバナンス モードを使用するMTreeに対してのみサポートされます。Data Domain VTLでは、自動リテンション ロックはサポートされていません。

②自動リテンションロックはサポートされていないため、Retention Lock を利用する際は vtl tape modify コマンドでテープ単位で設定する必要がある認識でよろしいでしょうか。

vtl tape modify barcode [count count] [pool pool] retention-lock {date | period} 

Modify the state of retention lock of a specified tape or tapes. Change the amount of time to maintain the retention lock on the specified tape or tapes. If the volume is not mounted, the change is made immediately. Otherwise, data is synchronized first. This will fail if the file system is read-only. Role required: admin, limited-admin.

 

ちなみにDD System ManagerからならProtocols > DD VTL > Libraries（または Pools） > TapesのSet Tape Stateで設定可能です。
 

 
③vtl tape modify にて Retention Lock を設定後、設定したテープのロックが有効な期間（開始日時および終了日時）を確認する方法はありますでしょうか。
 →vtl tape showコマンドのtime-display  retentionで可能です。

③設定済みの Retention Lock の同一プールで一部のテープのみを解除することは可能でしょうか。
→Path指定の# mtree retention-lock revert <path>コマンドでバーコード指定をすれば可能なはずです。

 

実機での確認例＞実際Retention設定はできないラボ機なので動作確認まではできていませんがコマンド確認は可能でした。

ファイルまたはファイルのセットに対するリテンション ロックを完全に解除することは可能ですか?
はい。ガバナンス モードを使用して、MTree内のファイルに対するリテンション ロックを元に戻す(解除する)ことができます。これは、次のコマンドで行います。
# mtree retention-lock revert <path>
ファイルに対するリテンション ロックが削除されると、通常どおりファイルを変更または削除することができます。このコマンドをディレクトリーに対して実行すると、そのディレクトリー内のすべてのファイルとすべてのサブディレクトリーの保存ロックが解除されます

ご教示いただいたコマンドでリテンションロックを解除できました。
追加で確認させてください。
個別テープのリテンションロック解除後も、vtl tape show のステータスが RO/RL* のまま変化しませんでした。
これは仕様でしょうか。
また、リテンションロックが解除されたことを確認する際は、どのコマンドの結果を正として判断すればよいでしょうか。

The mtree retention-lock revert path command can be used to revert the retention-locked state of tapes that are locked with the vtl tape modify command. After the tape is unlocked, updates can be made to it. The unlocked state will not be visible via the Data Domain System Manager or CLI until the Data Domain VTL service is disabled then enabled. However, updates are applied to the unlocked tape. This capability is only for the Data Domain Retention Lock Governance Edition.　（実際はすでに解除されているが表示に反映させるにはVTLサービスのDisable/Enableが必要）

 

また、リテンションロックが解除されたことを確認する際は、どのコマンドの結果を正として判断すればよいでしょうか。
→上記にあるようにvtl disable / enableの後にvtl tape showコマンドでStateを確認してください。
