usb-c monitor no signal from laptop at startup

LS, The laptop is connected to two monitors, one with hdmi and the other with usbc to a dell usbc monitor. When the laptop is started the monitor with hdmi displays the screen but the other monitor says no usb-c signal found. In the input source screen the USB-C is auto selected and when is chosen again no result. Only when the laptop is reconnected the monitor displays the laptop screen. This is very inconvinient for the user. Please help.
