Executive Director – Internet of Things (IoT) solutions
Andy Rhodes currently serves as the Executive Director and General Manager of Dell’s Internet of Things business. Focused on providing solutions in the commercial industry from Edge Aggregation and Analytics of sensor data to analytics in the datacenter and cloud. Dell is the only company providing the complete end to end IT infrastructure for commercial IoT projects, bringing together all their assets from the edge of the network with IoT Gateways to analytics software in the datacenter.
Prior to his current role, Andy was the Executive Director for Dell’s multi-billion dollar Precision Workstation business. Helping customers get the most out of their professional applications in the fields such as Engineering, Media & Entertainment, Oil & Gas Simulations – through performance tuned and optimized workstation hardware. His organization develops the strategy, product planning and management for the division.
He has also help the position of Executive Director of Converged Infrastructure Solutions at Dell, focused on developing integrated infrastructure systems across compute, storage, networking, and infrastructure management. He is responsible for defining the strategy, roadmap, product management and marketing for Dell’s converged solutions that form the foundation of private cloud infrastructure and application platforms.
Andy also served as Dell’s Executive Director of Global Marketing of Data Center Solutions (DCS). The DCS division is responsible for providing customized infrastructure (server & storage) solutions to the world’s largest scaled out datacenter environments, often referred to as Cloud computing centers. Customers include Microsoft (Azure) and Facebook as well as many Chinese Web2.0 companies. His organization is responsible for strategy, product planning, product management and go to market messaging.
Andy has been the Head of the Server Business in EMEA. In this role, he was responsible for defining and, implementing Dell's Server and associated Services & 3rd party products strategy across the region. This strategy is based on Dell’s differentiated, standards based technology vision, which brings together hardware and enabling software technologies in a scalable architecture that simplifies and automates enterprise computing for small enterprises, yet with the scale to support both small businesses to the largest global enterprises.
Prior to joining Dell in 1999, Andy spent the previous three years at Hewlett-Packard as Corporate Marketing Manager (Intel Products - Servers, Desktops, Laptops, Networks). In this role, he was responsible for the marketing strategy and implementation of the product lines into corporate customers and the reseller network and the development and management of the corporate marketing strategy.
Andy graduated from Oxford Brooks University, United Kingdom & Curtin University in Perth, Australia with BA Honors in Business Administration.
