Jimmy is a Dell Senior Fellow and the Chief Architect and Technologist for Dell’s Data Center Solutions line of business. In this role, Jimmy is focused on providing industry leading product offerings for companies who need “cloud computing” / “hyper-scale” products that are efficient, scalable, and cost effective.
Previously, Jimmy was part of the office of Dell’s CTO where he served as a Distinguished Engineer responsible for the Scaleable Enterprise Architecture. In this role he had portfolio wide responsibilities for strategic system architectures, and relevant technologies (such as virtualization). He is a seasoned veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the server industry.
Prior to Dell, Jimmy was employed by Intel Corporation as part of their Enterprise Product Group where he served as: Director of Telecom Server Development, responsible for Intel’s NEBS harden servers and associated Software; Director of Server Architecture, responsible for their enterprise platform architecture; and Director of Engineering of the iA-32 Multiprocessing System Group, responsible for the development of their 8-way server products.
Jimmy has received more than 35 (awarded or pending) patents through extensive work in both large and small systems. He has also filled key executive/technical roles for NCR and AT&T where he helped pioneer their Intel based symmetric multiprocessing products.
