Help installing vWorkspace client on windows 7 64Bit

I have tried to install using:-

https://server/provision/web-it/clients/vasclient32t.exe

It asks for a re-boot (the laptop hangs on shutdown - left it 1 hour)

force a shut down and when re-boot the laptop is non responsive (complete system hang from logon)

have to boot into safe mode and remove quest software then re-boot to use any windows components or applications.

Has any one experienced this? it works fine on my 32Bit PC's / laptops

Thanks

Nathan

This must be laptop specific as I have just tried on another 64Bit windows 7 laptop and it's fine

I will follow the troubleshooting guide

Hi Nathan,

What was the model of laptop that you first installed the vWorkspace client on?

When you installed on another laptop was this the same type/model?

Also, what is the version of the vWorkspace client you are using?

Best Regards

David

Hi Nathan,

Thank you for your reply, I believe the issue you had may be related to the finger print reader driver on the Lenovo laptop. We previously identified that there was a clash between this device driver and our USB component driver on some Lenovo models, when installing the 7.2 client.

We have a hotfix, updated vWorkspace client, that can be used to avoid this problem.

If you are able to log a support case for this then I can provide you with a link to download the update. I believe it is also available on our Quest Support Portal.

Best Regards

David
