Mime type missing for MAC connector Extention

Hello ,

I am trying to Publish MAC OS x connector for users on vworkspace Site under other downloads page and when i provide url  'connectors/Quest_vWorkspace-Connector-for-Mac-OS-X_72.dmg' like we did in VW 7.2 it add 'Downloads' in the path and it is not downloading.

i tried giving absolute path starting from Virtual Directory '/vworkspace/connectors/Quest_vWorkspace-Connector-for-Mac-OS-X_72.dmg' even it is not downloading it and giving error '404 - File or directory not found'

after some more research i had found that it somehow does not like file with extension '.dmg' as files with extention '.exe' are easily getting downloaded.

Now the question arises in my mind is why is it not allowing download of .dmg file extentions. and here is the solution for it

mime type for .dmg is missing in IIS which is not recognizing/allowing it to download

as soon as i created MIME type for '.dmg' extension, everything started working.

file Name Extention : .dmg

MIME type : application/octet-stream
