Can AI Become Your Next Great Teammate?

Here’s something to consider: we constantly discuss AI making us faster, smarter, and more efficient. But what if its greatest value is helping us connect more deeply with each other?

Most businesses still treat AI purely as an efficiency enhancer, but the real game changer is AI’s emerging capacity for emotional intelligence. Imagine an AI that doesn’t just automate tasks—it understands feelings, reacts empathetically, and strengthens the human connections we rely on daily.

Agentic AI: AI that Collaborates Like a Human Team

At Dell Technologies, we’re moving beyond basic automation. We’re pioneering Agentic AI – where AI agents collaborate just like humans, unlocking both our proprietary data and unique team skills.

Picture an AI agent seamlessly integrated into your sales team, proactively analyzing customer environments, sizing solutions, and generating tailored proposals without explicit prompting. The work toward this vision is already underway – with the first agents expected to support key analysis tasks by the end of this year. They won’t yet deliver full end-to-end proposal automation, but it’s a critical first step. From there, additional capabilities will follow – each bringing us closer to realizing the full vision.

AI as Digital Colleagues

One demo that stood out for me showcased multiple AI agents collaborating around a CNC machine that manufactures metal components. Each AI agent had a clearly defined role (decision-maker, energy specialist, team leader) and collectively they analyzed data and proposed optimal operational models. Watching them interact was astonishing; they didn’t just automate, they analyzed, communicated, and «thought» together, mirroring the teamwork dynamics we see in human teams.

Diversity Matters – Even for AI Teams

A recent insight struck me about diversity among AI agents. Just like human teams, AI agents display distinct behaviors depending on the language models they’re based on. Some can be assertive, others cautious. Just like human teams, AI agents display distinct behaviors depending on the language models they’re based on. Some can be assertive, others cautious. So, does this mean that building diverse teams of AI agents could be just as important as assembling diverse human teams to tackle complex challenges effectively? We don’t know the answer yet – but early demos show agent behaviors that mirror human dynamics in diverse teams. That alone makes the question worth asking.

AI Amplifies Humans, Not Replaces Them

AI’s capabilities are impressive, but human intuition, creativity, and ethical judgment remain unmatched. Humans innovate naturally, effortlessly, and far more efficiently than AI’s power-intensive systems. The future isn’t AI replacing humans – it’s humans collaborating deeply with AI.

We’re entering a new era: trust, transparency, and ethical integration will define successful AI-human collaboration.

Your Leadership Move

Let’s spark this conversation together: How do you see AI reshaping connections in your team or your life? What should leaders prioritize to ensure AI amplifies our humanity rather than dilutes it?
