Realize Your Multicloud Reality with Dell and VMware Innovations

Explore multicloud’s potential as only Dell Technologies and VMware can deliver.

The newly renamed VMware Explore conference is the perfect opportunity to explore multicloud potential as only Dell Technologies and VMware can deliver.

A modern, flexible multicloud environment must be designed for easy and secure scaling, rapid adoption of new technologies and optimal data placement without creating operational silos. Dell Technologies and VMware are changing the “more clouds, more complexity” paradigm through jointly engineered and architected solutions that enable customers to meet multicloud challenges, with a consistent operational experience from core to edge to cloud.

This new multicloud reality is made possible through our decades-long partnership with VMware, which we are highlighting at VMware Explore. Today, we’re announcing a range of innovations across VxRail, APEX and Validated Designs for AI that enable organizations to unlock the true potential of multicloud, accelerate breakthroughs and thrive at the edge.

Accelerating Breakthroughs

Accelerating breakthroughs starts with increasing the pace of technology adoption in order to improve business outcomes. Dell and VMware are jointly engineering, developing and testing to ensure rapid adoption of new, innovative technologies.

Dell VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure systems, designed for VMware multicloud deployments, in partnership with VMware to enhance the VMware experience. VxRail HCI System Software delivers a common operational model and automated lifecycle management that simplifies adoption of new VMware innovations.

Over 800,000 hours1 of testing and validation are performed for every major VMware release, reducing risk and minimizing upgrade times.

Today, we are announcing multiple VxRail enhancements that enable customers to accelerate breakthroughs, including the industry’s first and only jointly engineered HCI platform running VMware vSphere® Distributed Service Engine™ on DPUs2 and support for vSAN Express Storage Architecture that delivers up to 4x storage performance.3 New VxRail Dynamic AppsOn further enables independent scale of compute and storage by attaching PowerStore to VxRail dynamic nodes with full lifecycle management.

Business breakthroughs are also driven by data insights, and AI is essential for revealing insights in a timely manner. We are announcing the Dell Validated Design for AI — Automatic Machine Learning (AutoML) solution that democratizes AI and machine learning, putting these capabilities in the hands of people at any skill level for a new era of automation. Validated, tested and tuned to work together, Validated Designs for AI simplify artificial intelligence with customers reporting a 60% reduction in AI-related tickets4 and faster time to insights with 20% faster time-to-value.4

Simple and Secure Multicloud Scaling

Our APEX offerings enable seamless, secure scaling and consistent operations with flexible consumption models. Today, we are announcing multiple APEX updates to further expand your multicloud environment. New deployment options deliver massive performance improvements for APEX Hybrid Cloud and APEX Private Cloud with 28% better workload density5, up to 86% increase in IOPS6 and up to 33% reduction in latency.5 The addition of compute-only configurations for APEX Private Cloud and APEX Hybrid Cloud enable independent scaling of compute and storage resources for increased efficiency and flexibility.

Users will be able to bring new applications to market faster, with agile infrastructure-as-a-service by provisioning Tanzu Kubernetes clusters at lightning speed. They can also automate manual tasks using APEX Cloud Services with VMware Cloud and built-in managed Tanzu Kubernetes Grid.

Thrive at the Edge

Customers can avoid “accidental architectures” that are created by deploying single-use-case edge solutions that result in data, management and operational silos. Our VxRail and APEX offerings extend datacenter administration and automated lifecycle management across the multicloud environment, streamlining operations and increasing IT staff productivity by 68%.7

New modular, self-contained VxRail edge nodes enable deploying VMware technology to high latency, low bandwidth locations with a consistent operational model. Edge-optimized, smaller configurations for APEX Private Cloud bring greater performance in a small footprint for space-constrained ROBO environments and Validated Designs for AI on VxRail extend the ease of AI to the edge.

The Value of Partnership

Our legacy of innovation with VMware continues today with over 40 joint-initiatives across more than 10 solution areas spanning from hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), Edge, Multicloud, Advanced Compute, Modern Apps, Enterprise Storage, Telecom, Anywhere Workspace ONE and Security.

We are excited to showcase some of these technology advancements at VMware Explore with our VMware, Intel, NVIDIA and AMD partners. Visit us at Booth 902 and at one of our featured sessions to learn more and explore the potential of multicloud.
