I’m not one for Top Ten lists, but one of the things I’m most looking forward to at this year’s Dell Storage Forum in Boston is the set of sessions that are led by our customers. We have four sessions that feature our customers talking about their experiences with Dell storage solutions, and from what I’ve seen, they each promise to spark some great conversation.
First up is J.Crew on Tuesday at 1:50 in Griffin. Tom from J.Crew will be sharing best practices from consolidating their storage infrastructure on Compellent. (Note to self: wear J.Crew khakis on Tuesday.) As they’ve continued to virtualize their environment, they’ve found Compellent to be increasingly more efficient.
Later on Tuesday at 4:30 in Griffin is Navicure. Navicure provides online healthcare claims processing, and has been a long-time EqualLogic customer. Donald will be talking about how they’ve grown with EqualLogic over the past several years, and what the best practices are for taking advantage of multiple generations of the product in multiple locations.
Wednesday at 3:10 in Griffin, we’ll be hearing from Expedient. The Expedient team uses EqualLogic, Compellent, and PowerVault, and they’ll be talking about how they choose among the products in which types of environments. Alex will share several best practices about sizing and standardization that have enabled them to scale and meet performance requirements.
And if you stay put in Griffin on Wednesday for the 4:30 session, you’ll hear from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. UIUC uses the DX6000 Object Storage Platform to manage large amounts of data in their library system. For them, the preservation of metadata is key to successfully archiving that much information, and Tom will explain how they’ve integrated with the DX to do that.
I’m grateful that we have so many customers who’ve embraced our technology and are eager to share their experiences and best practices. I hope to see you at some of these sessions!
