Today, we kick off Dell World in Austin! Nearly 8,000 IT professionals from across the globe will be joining us to learn how they can transform their organizations into digital enterprises.
Our theme for Dell World 2016 is “Let The Transformation Begin”. What does that mean? When you take a step back, you see that we’re on the precipice of the next industrial revolution. It’s a revolution that will impact every company in every industry. It’s a revolution that potentially threatens the existence of many companies, but one that’s also incredibly rich with opportunity. To take advantage of that opportunity – to play a part in fundamentally altering the way we live, work and relate to one another – every business will need to transform into a digital enterprise. What steps must our customers take to begin their transformation? That is exactly what attendees of Dell World will learn.
For our general sessions, we’ll kick things off on Wednesday morning. Our Chairman and CEO, Michael Dell, will reiterate our vision for Dell Technologies, and the role it will play in driving digital transformation for businesses across the world. He’ll then be joined by David Goulden, President of the Infrastructure Solutions Group at Dell, who will talk about how to power a digital transformation by modernizing, automating and transforming IT through a hybrid cloud. Now, if the business is going digital and IT is transforming then the workforce must transform. Jeff Clarke, our Vice-Chairman of Operations and President of Client Solutions at Dell, will join David and Michael to describe the latest client devices that enable a digital workforce to access new applications and data in ways never previously imagined.
If the Wednesday morning keynote is all about vision, the Wednesday afternoon keynote will be all about showing off our transformational technology in action – and since I’m involved in this one, doing so in a really fun way! You’ll see evil villains. You’ll see superheroes. You’ll see the very best of Dell technology including major advances in converged infrastructure and software-defined storage, running our latest and greatest PowerEdge servers. We’ll be talking live to most of our product leaders and showing demos to make your face melt.
Throughout our Wednesday general sessions expect to hear about a host of new products—just a few weeks after forming our new company, we’re kicking our innovation engine into high gear and will be delivering brand new technology through which to modernize the data center and transform IT.
Finally, we’ll cap things off on Thursday by talking about innovation. Five-time bestseller Malcolm Gladwell, author and IT visionary Kevin Kelly, Zuora founder and CEO Tien Tzuo, and award-winning NPR technology reporter Aarti Shahani will explore the factors that contribute to innovation and innovation in practice.
Of course Dell World is still partly a geek show — so beyond the general sessions, we’ll have 120+ breakouts at which attendees can learn best practices, and of course our Solution Showcase, where you can get under the hood with technology from across the Dell and Dell portfolios as well as that of our 70+ sponsor partners.
Now, don’t think I forgot to talk about our party! We got Alabama Shakes performing at the premier party presented by Deloitte!
