Enterprise customers can now spin up their own OpenStack-based Rackspace Private Clouds using the same software and hardware that Rackspace uses to power its public and private clouds. After a detailed automated testing and validation process, the Enterprise Solutions Group (ESG) has completed the certification process for several Dell hardware platforms. Customers can choose the gear that bests fits their needs, while maintaining the fast deployment and stack stability provided by Rackspace Private Cloud Software v2.0 and Rackspace Fanatical Support services.
Customers have three reference architecture options for their OpenStack-based private clouds:
- Mass-Compute: Data resides directly on the compute nodes for variable workloads.
- Mass-Compute With External Storage: Data is stored on external resilient volumes and exported over iSCSI.
- Distributed Object Storage: Data is stored in an object storage cloud that spreads critical data across multiple zones for resiliency.
By having multiple choices for open source clouds that span private and public domains, our customers can build the clouds they need. Our hardware has been optimized for infrastructure, compute, and storage roles in high performance cloud environments such as Rackspace’s OpenStack-based private and public clouds.
