Dell’s participation in CeBIT, the digital industry's biggest, most international event, was a resounding success this year. The Dell team got to meet with thousands of customers and our leadership team gave several keynotes at the event. We shared our perspectives on how use of technology is changing and that Dell has the right end-to-end solutions and services to meet these changing needs. We had a much larger stand this year and displayed four solution areas: mobility, security, scalable IT infrastructure and efficient data management.
A highlight of the event was the keynote from Paul-Henri Ferrand, Dell’s CMO for Consumer Small and Medium Business. He spoke to an audience of over 350 delegates about how entertainment, mobility and social media are driving dramatic changes and leading to the Consumerization of IT in businesses of all sizes. In his talk, Paul-Henri discussed how the mega trend of Consumerization of IT is changing the way we work and play, what Dell is doing to help customers seize this opportunity, while putting in place policies and safeguards to protect data and assets, minimize costs and boost productivity.
Barbara Wittmann, GM for Dell Germany, delivered her keynote on Demystifying the Cloud at BITKOM Cloud Computing World, providing the audience with an overview of Dell’s vision, approach, and growth in this area. In connection with the keynote she conducted a video interview with BITKOM for their www.cloud-practice.de web site, talking about Dell’s view of Cloud Computing and challenges that companies’ face. Barbara was also connected to Initiative Mittelstand’s IT innovation awards ceremony (the Innovationspreis-IT 2011) at CeBIT. Dell was proud to be one of the sponsors for these IT industry awards and Barbara delivered a keynote at the ceremony on the importance of the small and medium-sized businesses for the national (German) economy.
All in all, Dell’s participation at CeBIT was a success. We received commentary from publications like Notebookjournal and PC Welt as well as being featured in interviews on CRN TV and CeBIT TV featuring Barbara Wittmann.
