For Q2, PartnerDirect Growth Significantly Beats the U.S. Industry Average

Dell PartnerDirect logo As exited Q2FY11, I am happy to report we continue to make significant progress in our channel business. For Q2, Dell’s Global Commercial Channel (GCC) business was 25 percent of Dell’s overall global commercial revenue (GCC). Dell’s channel business grew 38 percent in the U.S. in Q2.

We are doing significantly better than the channel industry as a whole. In July, the U.S. commercial channel business revenue increased year-over-year by 10.8 percent (source: The NPD Group). Dell’s total U.S. commercial channel revenue increased 31 percent year over year—2.9 times the U.S. industry growth. Globally, we saw Dell GCC revenue growth of 52 percent year-over-year.

In July, we launched a networking security specialist track for partners who want to become experts in Dell’s PC network products. Security is one of the most pressing IT issues businesses face today, and it difficult and increasingly complex for businesses to assemble the resources necessary to address the threats they face. Our partners now have the ability to specialize in this important area, and we have seen a strong interest from partners since we launched the specialization.

We now have almost 60,000 partners registered worldwide, with over 2,000 certified globally, and over 900 certified in the U.S. In Q2, we had an 88 percent year-over-year growth in deal registration, which is impressive growth. All the regions are growing their deal registration quarter-over-quarter, with Latin American and APJ posting the largest gains. North America and EMEA still represent 72 percent of all deal registration locally. Our approval rate for deals stays consistent at approximately 70 percent, and the U.S. and EMEA are delivering service levels under 48 hours.
