In the time since Lionel first blogged about the Sound Blaster Audigy MB software, we’ve been working with Creative Labs to address the need for an upgrade path for customers who paid for the Windows XP version and did not receive the Vista version.
Later this month, we plan to offer this software to customers via download for free. This version will be equivalent to what Dell factory installs on Vista systems. In order to ensure reliability of the download and upgrade process, we still need a bit more time for additional testing. This testing will be completed soon, and we expect to post the Sound Blaster Audigy MB software by the end of the month.
There are some known issues with this upgrade process due to Vista not finding and caching all the necessary configuration files. For those you experiencing issues with the Sigmatel drivers after performing a Vista upgrade, here’s what you need to do:
- Uninstall the driver first
- Reinstall the driver
