Over the weekend, I saw that Jason Dunn posted a blog entry about our new commercial. Glad you liked it, Jason. Check it out in his post, or you can view it directly by clicking on this link.
It’s part of a new campaign called Yours Is Here (www.dell.com/yoursishere).
From my perspective, this commercial looks and sounds a bit cooler than what we’ve done in the past, I found out that we’re trying to reach new audiences with it. Besides airing the commercial in prime time spots, you might also see it on channels like Food Network, E!, Style Network and WE: Women’s Entertainment—among others.
If you haven’t seen the commercial yet, it empahasizes the eight Inspiron color options and showcases how different customers might use these Inspiron machines. It’s more exciting then my simplistic description. The song that you’ll hear is a Flaming Lips track called “The W.A.N.D.”
On a related note, I just saw some details on a new contest we’re hosting on July 21 called the Dell Urban Challenge. Teams will be competing for Inspiron notebooks and a chance to win $5,000. Basically, it’s a scavenger hunt that will take place across several cities in the United States: New York, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.
You can take a look at the official rules here. Those who are interested can register themselves and a teammate by submitting your a-mail address at the bottom of the Dell Urban Challenge page. Registration ends on July 19.
