Customer-driven Expertise Powers Success

Cyber resiliency, VMware integration and cloud data protection power the data protection portfolio for Dell Technologies.

Dell Technologies named a Leader in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions

As a trusted provider of data protection solutions for tens of thousands of organizations globally, Dell Technologies has once again been named a Leader in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions.¹ This marks the 16th consecutive time that we have been named a Leader in a Magic Quadrant.

To be sure, we understand that we have to continue delivering the innovative data protection solutions our customers need to continue earning their business. This is especially true given the massive changes that have taken place in our customer’s environments over the last 18 months. The work from home phenomenon, accelerated digital transformation activities, the increased adoption of cloud technologies and the proliferation of cyberthreats have all created a new heightened sense of urgency about the criticality of data protection.

Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Solutions

To that end, we are committed to helping our customers navigate these uncertain waters now and well into the future by continuously delivering the innovative data protection and cyber resiliency solutions they need to protect critical workloads and data wherever they live across their hybrid multi-cloud and edge locations.

Three key areas where we are helping organizations of all sizes today include:

Cyber resiliency: PowerProtect Cyber Recovery protects critical information from ransomware by giving organizations the ability to replicate an immutable copy of production data to an isolated, air-gapped vault. The solution also employs intelligent countermeasures to detect the presence of malware on vaulted copies for remediation; meeting all of the requirements of Sheltered Harbor.

VMware Integration: Organizations are looking for tighter data protection integration across hybrid, multi-cloud infrastructure. And the cloud management foundation for many organizations is VMware. We are helping to deliver the best data protection experience with VMware by developing innovative data protection solutions that integrate directly with VMware APIs to deliver protection for virtualized workloads and containers on-premise, in the public cloud and on the edge.

Cloud data protection: We continue to deliver capabilities for protecting workloads in public cloud environments – from virtual and Kubernetes containers to SaaS based workloads like Microsoft 365, Salesforce and Google Workspace. Organizations can also protect cloud-native workloads across multiple public clouds via our integrated SaaS based PowerProtect Cloud Snapshot Manager. And from a data efficiency standpoint, we offer the lowest cost to protect in the cloud.² Today, we have over 1,300 customers protecting over seven exabytes of data in the cloud.³

We also continue to deliver solutions for increasing data protection automation. For example, our application direct and storage direct capabilities enable our customers to rapidly protect growing data volumes directly from their mission critical applications and primary storage infrastructure. Look for us to continue to innovate in this area, particularly with our PowerProtect Data Manager platform, to drive further efficiencies and simplicity into data protection operations everywhere our customers workloads reside.

We are excited about the opportunities to continue delivering the innovative data protection solutions our customers have come to rely on to give them the confidence that their critical applications and data are safeguarded regardless of whatever eventuality may come their way.

And we remain humble in the knowledge that while we have enjoyed a leadership position in the data protection market for many years, we have to continually earn our stripes every day from those that matter the most – our customers.
