Dell Executive Honored for Supplier Diversity Work

Dell is an enthusiastic supporter of women entrepreneurs, and you’ve recently heard about our work to give them the power to do more through our products and services. But these women also have a direct connection to our own world-class supply chain.

Led by Cyndi Hopkins, the Global Supplier Diversity team has advanced Dell’s ability to identify women-business enterprises (WBEs), as well as minority-owned (MBEs), that bring competitive products and services to Dell customers.

I’m proud to announce that Cyndi has been named one of DiversityPlus magazine’s “Top 25 Women in Power Impacting Diversity.” She also recently received the “Applause Award” from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), which recognizes exceptional accomplishments that expand opportunities for WBEs on a national or international level.

Investing in our diverse suppliers levels the playing field for these enterprises to compete for business from companies such as Dell. Cyndi and her team enhance our capabilities to accomplish this by:

  • Launching a Tier II Diverse Supplier Program that extends Dell mentoring, support and development opportunities to the second level of our diverse supply chain.
  • Partnering with WBENC and the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) to further promote diversity in the supply chain. Dell has been listed on WBENC’s America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises for the past four years.
  • Increasing our participation in the Billion Dollar Roundtable, a group of 18 companies that meets annually to discuss trends and issues affecting WBEs and MBEs; members of this group spend at least $1 billion with diverse suppliers.

Cyndi is a strong advocate of this type of growth in our supply chain. She is passionate about extending Dell’s experience with both WBEs and MBEs because not only is it right for Dell, it’s also the right thing to do.

We invite you to learn more about Dell’s work in this area.
