EMC World 2014 Will Be EPIC

EMC World is only days away and I can hardly contain my enthusiasm. This will be my fourth year participating in our largest, most global and most important customer event of the year and I’m excited for everyone to see what we’ve got up our sleeves this time around.

Every year our goal is to deliver attendees (and this year we have more than 14,000!) with killer experiences that provide them with the knowledge to inspire their teams, visibility into what’s ahead for the industry, and the tools needed to act today. And this year, I’m absolutely certain that EMC World will redefine any and all expectations our customers and partners may have.

Contrary to the popular maxim, we want “what happens in Vegas…” NOT to stay in Vegas. In fact, we’ve designed it up to make sure that what happens in Vegas at EMC World is accessible… to the world. And to do this, we will share (almost) everything online. Here are the best ways to easily engage with and experience EMC World if you aren’t able to join us in person:

  • Online: To track the latest EMC World 2014 happenings, visit www.emcworld.com
  • Live Streaming: To view videos of general sessions, product roadmaps and EMC TV coverage, visit http://emcworld.com/virtual
  • Social: Join in the conversation with #EMCWORLD. For continuous news and event updates follow EMC World on Twitter @EMCWorld and Facebook. Stay engaged with EMC by following EMC Corporation on Twitter @EMCCorp and on Facebook
  • Community: Register for the EMC Community Network and visit the vPass, the ECN member’s virtual guide to everything EMC World 2014.

Watch the video below to hear a bit more about why this year’s event is better than ever, the story behind EMC’s Redefine theme and what that means for our customers and partners.

There is so much going on over the course of four days, sometimes it’s hard to keep track! Here is a taste of this year’s event highlights:

General Sessions: Headlining EMC World this year, Joe Tucci, EMC Chairman and CEO, David Goulden, CEO, EMC Information Infrastructure will kick things off on Monday. We’ll also have guest appearances on Tuesday from Pat Gelsinger, CEO of VMware and Paul Maritz, CEO of Pivotal.

Technology Roadmaps: We also welcome the presidents of EMC’s product divisions as they deliver keynotes on EMC’s products.  Learn more about the products we’re announcing, and insight into the future.

Areas 52 and 53: While mystery still surrounds the actual Area 51, EMC plans to peel back the layers of mystery surrounding the latest trends in IT and what EMC is working on to address them.

Global Partner Summit: Our partners will join us for the third annual Global Partner Summit (GPS) beginning Tuesday, May 6. Attendees will hear from EMC’s executive leadership team about how EMC’s partners can take advantage of new programs, technologies and IT trends shaping customers existing and future data centers.

Solutions Arcade: The Solutions Arcade exists for attendees wanting to learn more about EMC’s latest products and solutions. There is a special addition to the Arcade this year; EMC is building a hybrid cloud from the ground up – live. What can happen in only 48 hours is pretty astounding, and showcases our commitment to building the most flexible hybrid cloud solutions for our customers.

CIO Summit: At the exclusive, invitation-only CIO Summit, hosted by Vic Bhagat, EMC EVP and CIO, CIOs will gather together with industry visionaries as well as executives from EMC’s Federation of companies to discuss leading trends driving IT.

Customer Appreciation Event: Oh, and did I mention, Imagine Dragons will kick it up with a private concert for EMC World attendees?

I look forward to connecting, engaging and hearing from all of you either in Las Vegas or online.
