Everest Base Camp Trek for The Talent Foundry
Join me and some of my Dell colleagues on a trek to Everest Base Camp to support The Talent Foundry’s mission to empower young people and break down barriers.
Chasing a lifelong dream while empowering the next generation
Starting tomorrow, I’m hiking to Everest Base Camp. Along with 24 of my colleagues and partners, we’re beginning an inspiring 11-day trek across the Himalayas.
One of our goals on this adventure is to reach one of the world’s most iconic and challenging landmarks. The other goal is to raise funds for The Talent Foundry, a non-profit organization dedicated to leveling the playing field for young people from underserved communities.
For me, this challenge is deeply personal because trekking to Everest Base Camp is a lifelong ambition. Getting to pursue this dream in support of The Talent Foundry’s incredible work with young people across the UK is both humbling and energizing.
Trekking to Everest Base Camp has been a lifelong ambition since my childhood reading the National Geographic with my mum and imagining amazing sounding places like Lukla, Namche Bazaar and Tengboche. Doing this epic challenge to support the amazing work that The Talent Foundry does with young people in the UK is very humbling.

Opening doors through a decade of impact and opportunity
Our trek is the latest chapter in a long-standing partnership between Dell Technologies and The Talent Foundry. For more than a decade, we’ve worked together to help young people from underrepresented backgrounds access the skills, opportunities and networks they need to thrive in the modern workforce.
The Talent Foundry creates life-changing opportunities by connecting business leaders, schools, and students. Together, they inspire, equip, and support the next generation. Their mission is to boost social mobility by helping individuals, regardless of their background, access better opportunities and improve their quality of life. This aligns closely with Dell’s purpose: driving human progress through technology and opportunity.

This isn’t our first adventure for The Talent Foundry. In 2013, we joined the charity’s very first overseas challenge at Mount Kilimanjaro. Last year, our team took on the Inca Trail and raised over £60,000 (around $73,000). Back in the UK, this year’s Dell Management Challenge has already added more than £54,000 (about $66,000) in donations.
Over the past decade, our fundraising efforts have made a real difference. More than 50,000 students have benefit from the Future Workforce program, gaining the skills and confidence they need to succeed in today’s workplace.
Tracking bold goals and big impact
I hope our expedition shows how bold goals are achieved when people come together, support each other and work toward making a positive impact.
Throughout the trek, I’ll be sharing regular LinkedIn updates, thanks to a Dell Rugged laptop. You can also follow along on The Talent Foundry’s Facebook page to see more stories about the journey.
If you’re curious about the incredible work The Talent Foundry does to support and empower young people, I encourage you to explore their mission and programs. See you at base camp!
